Therapy-Focused Telepsychiatry in Colorado & New York
What sets me apart I offer private, telepsychiatry sessions in Colorado and New York, with in-depth 2-hour evaluations and 1-hour follow-up appointments. My approach is therapy-first, meaning we explore your emotional patterns, core beliefs, and behaviors—not just symptoms.
You won’t be rushed through a 15-minute med check. Instead, we’ll spend meaningful time together to uncover the whybehind what you’re experiencing. I do not prescribe controlled substances such as benzodiazepines, stimulants, or opiates—focusing instead on sustainable growth through therapy and selective medication support when appropriate.

I’m Dr. Colter Boita, a board-certified psychiatrist and Army veteran, offering telepsychiatry in Colorado and New York.
Before becoming a psychiatrist, I served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and founded a nonprofit in East Africa. These experiences guide my approach—grounded in patience, humility, and a deep respect for human resilience.
If you’re feeling stuck, anxious, or burned out, know that you don’t have to face it alone. I work with adults ready to dig deeper and make lasting change. My sessions are longer than standard psychiatry visits, because your story deserves time. We’ll explore your thoughts, behaviors, and past experiences, charting a path aligned with your values.
This isn’t quick-fix psychiatry. I don’t rush, don’t over medicate, and do not prescribe controlled substances (no benzos, stimulants, or opiates). Instead, I offer a psychiatric experience rooted in curiosity, compassion, and real insight.
Philosophy
Over time, I became disheartened by the rushed pace of traditional psychiatry, where 15-minute appointments often leave little space to understand someone’s story—let alone their goals. I believe that mental health care should go beyond symptom management; it should be about uncovering the deeper patterns and experiences that affect your quality of life.
That’s why I take a therapy-forward, insight-driven approach grounded in genuine connection and emotional depth. My philosophy reflects a holistic view of mental health, recognizing the interdependence of mind, body, and behavior.
I aim to create a safe, judgment-free space where you’re encouraged to reflect, question, and grow. Through collaborative therapy, thoughtful medication management (when appropriate), and evidence-based wellness practices, we’ll work together to build resilience, uncover clarity, and move toward the life you want to live.
